We learned about the first ordinance of the Gospel--baptism. Jesus Christ was baptized when he was on the earth. We are baptized when we turn eight years old. We learned that we make a promise or covenant with Heavenly Father when we are baptized. A covenant is a two way promise.We passed around a container while we sang a song. When the song stopped, whoever had the container opened it and pulled out a piece of paper that had one of these covenants listed on it. It was either a promise we make to Heavenly Father or a promise Heavenly Father makes to us when we are baptized.
We learned that these covenants are "renewed" every time we partake of the Sacrament in church on Sunday. Ask your children about what these promises are!
